Jasper Alberta

Jasper Alberta is home to many adventure filled winter activities. We had the chance to get out there for an amazing experience this season. Special thanks to tour guide Deiter Reget for the canyon crawls through Maligne Canyon's frozen waterfalls, to Brian Rode and everyone who made our ski tour through the alpine bowls at Marmot Basin possible. Jasper has it all. Relax at the Whistle Stop Pub and enjoy some easy listening of the local talent on Sundays jam session at 1:00pm, or head down and see the folks at the Silverwater Grill & Pub for some fine dining. Great times in Jasper to say the least! Check out the video! www.snowseekers.ca

From Surf To Snow

Out of Ucluelet and onto the ski hill. The ocean is only visible now from the top of Mount Washington. Were here now, back to the normal game of SnowSeekers to bring you a segment on Mount Washington Alpine Resort. I cant help but keep looking back at all the surf pics and the clips of footage we got. Jim bought a rad little camera thats waterproof so we took er' for a spin! I put together a little video to show what we were up to splashin around in the Pacific. Special thanks to Inner Rhythm Surf Shop for all the surf gear and especially Mark for those crucial lessons! They came in pretty handy, tho the video will display otherwise. Let it be known that there WAS some waves to be stood on by the two of us haha. Another thanks to the Surfs Inn for letting us crash there for a couple nights while in town. Enjoy the video! Back to snow, check out the new Panorama video at www.snowseekers.ca
SURFS UP!

Surfs Up!

SO I've had quite the amazing last couple days. To start off I got to see the ocean for the first time on a little solo assignment shooting a segment on BC Ferry's. The ferry runs from Prince Rupert along the west coast all the way down to Port Hardy. From there I picked Jim up at the airport in Campbell River. STELLAR DRIVE through Vancouver Island. From Campbell we drove 3 hours to a town call Ucluelet. Rad town to say the least. Total surf town. The surf shop doesn't close down for the winter, as the best waves here are IN the winter. Pretty crazy. We got geared up with some wet suits and some board courtesy of Inner Rhythm Surf Shop and off we went. Hitting the water with a board for the first time was an amazing experience. I knew the water was salt water. But its HONESTLY super salty, I was amazed. The scenery here is crazy. It doesn't even feel like I'm in Canada. Its so green, and rich, and it looks so foreign. Pretty rad. Anyways were rained in rite now, we were suppose to go shoot some surfing with some dudes from Inner Rhythm but being the rain capital of the WORLD, time will tell when were able to grab some good footy. Stay tuned!. ALSO a new video has been posted on the SnowSeekers site. Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Be sure to check it out!!  http://www.snowseekers.ca

Last Call!

So this is it! Unfortunately I'm off today to the coast. Great time with the doctors. The conferences were very interesting, and a pleasure to shoot. Its puking snow again, hopefully they get out in the chopper for a few last turns before they take off tonight. Yesterday they got a full day in, which means I got to make another little something for them. They took more video this time which was great. Unfortunately I was unable to go up with them! blast! haha oh well. I got some turns in at Shames Mountain. Interesting terrain there. Very soft powder though. Anyways, the breakfast bell is ringing. Enjoy.

Success!

Yesterday was a great success. The conferences went well, and more importantly the docs got to go shred the hill all day!. They came back tired as hell with empty belly's and full cameras. Which translates into work for me! I put together a little slideshow for them to watch at breakfast this morning and it was a hit! Today they are off again and I would assume to have some more footage and pictures to play with when they arrive. In the mean time, I'm off to shames mountain with Doc Pow and a couple other physicians to shred the gnar! enjoy.

NE Heli-Ski

Located in Terrace BC is the planets LARGEST heli-ski tenure. Northern Escape Heli-Ski is an amazing place. The tenure is a quarter of the size of Switzerland. Leaving what seems like an infinite amount of terrain to shred. Unfortunately the weather has not been co-operating this morning. We are here on assignment to get coverage on the 4 day doctor conference. Doctors from all over sign up for this educational adventure to gain credits, and at the same time get some amazing turns in. The skies seem to be clearing. Hopefully we can get some good footy today up there. Stay tuned!

Powder King

What a day. Powder King really holds true to its name. These guys get something like 42 feet of snow in a season, which is absolutely ridiculous. We went for a mountain tour with the bar manager of the local pub Scott. This dude is like 40 years old, and SHREDS. It was a great day to say the least. Mild frostbite scare on one of the shoots but we made er' through safe. We started the morning with a hike up to the summit. Unfortunately the camera man doesn't get all the fresh tracks, but I still manage to have my fun after shooting the guys lines. After some fat lines down this amazing bowl we decided to put the camera away and go for a boot without any gear. We found ourselves in these amazing glades. fresh pow yet again. I say "without any gear" but its un true. any powder hound such as our selves knows to carry a portable camera on their person for those dope shots! Much more to follow.

Know Your Line

Hopefully you've experienced it in YOUR boots. I know I have. It's known as "powder euphoria", and if your not careful it will do you in. It's a feeling when your out ripping through the trees or in a massive powder bowl, to where nothing else exists except the present moment in time, where your surfing or shredding this white fluffy cloud. The thing you gotta watch for...is of corse your line. You can get so caught up in the moment, that you don't even realize what your heading for. While hitting some glade runs in Panorama off of "View of 1000 Peaks" , we found our fall line heading into a canyon cliff with a 65 foot drop. Good thing Doc Pow was leading the way. He made some heavy turns up ahead to avoid this drop and as I came up to his tracks and looked over the side I couldn't help but snap a pic. KNOW YOU LINE!

On The Road

Today is a pretty big day. On the road once again to explore new some new heights. This time its a 10 day bender across Northern British Columbia and Vancouver Island. On the list we have Powder King in Prince George BC, Shames Mountain Resort in Terrace BC, a 22 hour ferry ride along the souther coast of British Columbia, surfing in Ucluelet along the west coast of Vancouver Island, and we can't leave out the all mighty Mount Washington. Never being to any of these places before, or even seeing an ocean for that matter. I'm stoked to say the least. Pics and updates to follow.
